NINE ORDERS (SE)
Nine Orders är ett nytt svenskt progressivt metalband som trots att de är nykomlingar individuellt har stora meriter i bagaget. Tre av fyra medlemmar är musikhögskoleutbildade yrkesmusiker som har setts i en rad olika sammanhang. Bland annat har trummisen John Bergstrand setts i A Secret River och basisten Magnus Sjöquist har spelat med Medows och Jojje Wadenius, medan bandets nye sångare Fredrik Bergstrand sjunger i Elusive End och jobbar som musiklärare och röstcoach. Bandets låtskrivare, gitarristen Joel Rasmussen, är den enda som inte har musiken som yrke utan istället jobbar som forskare på Örebro universitet, men även han är en skicklig musiker.
Musikaliskt präglas Nine Orders progressiva metal av sköna riff, grooviga rythmer och harmonier som spänner från det melankoliska till det dramatiska. Influenser hämtas från såväl Fates Warning och Queensryche, som svenska Memento Mori och Evergrey.
Efter tre singelsläpp är nu Nine Orders, lagom till Light The Dark, redo att släppa sitt debutalbum “Ex Imperium”.
På de låtar bandet släppt hittills har Johannes Häger (Streetlight, Bullock Hearts) varit sångare, men i samband med att Nine Orders tar steget till att även bli ett liveband fanns inte tiden för honom att satsa på ytterligare ett band.

Nine Orders is a new Swedish progressive metal band that, despite being newcomers, has great individual merits. Three of the four members are conservatory-educated musicians who have been seen in a number of different contexts. Among other things, drummer John Bergstrand has been seen in A Secret River and bassist Magnus Sjöquist has played with Medows and Jojje Wadenius, while the band's new singer Fredrik Bergstrand sings in Elusive End and works as a music teacher and voice coach. The band's songwriter, guitarist Joel Rasmussen, is the only one who does not have music as a profession, but instead works as a researcher at Örebro University, but he is also a skilled musician.
Musically, Nine Orders progressive metal is characterized by beautiful riffs, groovy rhythms and harmonies that range from the melancholic to the dramatic. Influences are drawn from Fates Warning and Queensryche, as well as Swedish Memento Mori and Evergrey.
After three single releases, Nine Orders is now ready to release its debut album “Ex Imperium” just in time for Light The Dark.
On the songs the band has released so far, Johannes Häger (Streetlight, Bullock Hearts) has been the singer, but in connection with Nine Orders taking the step to also becoming a live band, there was no time for him to invest in another band.
