EXTOL (NO)
Extol grundades som ett deathmetaband i Bekkestua i Norge 1993 av trummisen David Husvik och hans kusiner Christer och Peter Espevoll. Genom åren har flera andra medlemmar setts i bandet. Bland annat Lengsel-medlemmarna John Robert Mjåland, Ole Halvard Sveen och Tor Magne Glidje. Och sist men inte minst, Ole Børud, som under sina år i bandet blev en tongivande medlem för hela Extols sound. Bandet har även hunnit byta stil ett flertal gånger och har bland annat testat stilar som thrash och progressiv metal.
1998 släppte Extol sitt debutalbum “Burial”. Det har sedan blivit ytterligare fyra album och tre EP:s. Den senaste digitala EP:n kom 2023 och innehöll de två låtarna “Labyrinth of Ill” och “Exigency”.
Till Light The Dark kommer Extol med ett rykande färskt album, men bandet kommer även spela många av sina gamla klassiker.
13 years after the band's last gig in Sweden, Extol returns in March for a new gig on Swedish soil. Extol was founded as a deathmeta band in Bekkestua, Norway in 1993 by drummer David Husvik and his cousins Christer and Peter Espevoll. Over the years, several other members have joined the band. Among them are the Lengsel members John Robert Mjåland, Ole Halvard Sveen and Tor Magne Glidje. And last but not least, Ole Børud, who during his years in the band became a key member for Extol's entire sound. The band has also had time to change style several times and has tested styles such as thrash and progressive metal.
In 1998, Extol released their debut album “Burial”. There have since been four more albums and three EPs. The latest digital EP came in 2023 and contained the two songs “Labyrinth of Ill” and “Exigency”.
Extol comes to Light The Dark with a brand new album, but the band will also play many of their old classics.
